This paper introduces an attention-based neural image captioning model. It allows the model to automatically learn to describe the content of images by focusing on the most relevant parts of the image when generating each word of the description. This attention mechanism significantly improves the quality of generated captions by enabling the model to selectively attend to salient image regions.
