Discovering frequent episodes in event sequences

This paper introduces a new approach for discovering frequently occurring patterns, known as episodes, in event sequences. It presents algorithms to efficiently identify these episodes, which are sets of events that occur together within a specific time window. The method can be applied to various fields like network intrusion detection, fault diagnosis, and market basket analysis to understand temporal relationships between events.
